BEA Calzaturificio was founded in 1965 in Gonars, in the heart of Friuli, where the tradition of the Friulana has been rooted for centuries. What began as a small family workshop has grown, over three generations, into a benchmark for authentic friulane made according to the original recipe. Today, artisan experience meets an innovative vision, allowing us to bring a product deeply tied to its territory into international markets - always with a strong focus on quality, authenticity and personalization.

Our internal pattern-making team works exclusively on your project, developing custom friulane models tailored to your exact specifications - with no external designers involved.
We work directly with your fabrics, handling weights from 150g to 600g per square meter through our in-house coupling process, giving you full control over the final look and feel.
Our cutting department combines modern CAD technology with traditional die-cutting equipment, making it possible to efficiently manage both small production runs and one-off prototypes.
Every pair receives the same level of attention when it comes to edge binding, one of those finishing details that often goes unnoticed but quietly defines the overall quality and character of a shoe.
Assembly and stitching are carried out entirely by hand, following techniques that have been refined and passed down across three generations of shoemakers - a process no machine has fully replaced.
We are not simply a Friulana workshop: we are a highly specialized footwear factory, built to achieve the highest level of quality and attention to detail. Every stage of production is overseen by a dedicated department, from fabric preparation and coupling to the finishing of the final product. Only at BEA can you find every phase of production under one roof, allowing us to monitor every single process and every single step.
We are able to carry out traditional hand stitching, made without glue; the "California" method, with a glued sole for a waterproof tread; and the "bordata" method, our edge-bound construction.
